The Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, North Carolina State University is searching for a Postdoctoral fellow with training, experience and skills in applied chemical ecology with knowledge of filth fly biology and behavior. The person will be responsible for the development of an attractive lethal trap. The incumbent is responsible for planning, analyzing, and reporting research on filth fly attractants, formulation optimization, and evaluation of improved filth fly traps in concert with an area wide filth fly control strategy. These projects require a talented individual to design and oversee laboratory work and field testing. Ultimately, the post-doctoral associate will have to analyze data and communicate these findings both orally and in written form. This position requires a Ph.D. in entomology, chemistry, chemical ecology or a related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Data analysis skills are required for this position.
Salary: $36,000/yr with health insurance.
