Our Collaborations

We have several active collaborations, both within NCSU and with other Universities. We enjoy doing the field work others may not, and also provide supporting lab work in terms of colony based experiments and molecular approaches (PCR or next generation sequencing). Inside NCSU, we have a current project with D. Wes Watson and R. Mike Roe. We currently collaborate with L. Phil Lounibos and Irka Bargielowski (University of Florida) and Steve Dorus (Syracuse University) on a molecular approach to satyrization, with Barry Alto (University of Florida) and Ivette Lorenzana (Universidad Autonomous de Honduras, Tegucigalpa, Honduras) on chikungunya fever epidemiology, Harish Padmanabha (Universidad del Norte, Barranquilla, Colombia) on thermal biology of mosquito larvae, and Charlie Nunn and Randi Griffin (Duke University) on landscape ecology of mosquito assemblages. I have also collaborated with Gregory Gray at the Duke Global Health Institute on international instruction in medical entomology. In the next few months, we envision a number of collaborative proposals to be submitted, so this list is going to get a whole lot bigger!
